Super Doubles

Well it’s that time again – Super Double coupons at Meijer. I actually missed it in my first run through of the ad yesterday morning. I went through the whole ad – noted a few deals, and then when I got to the end I thought hey I didn’t check for super doubles – so I flipped back to page 1 and there it was. It’s actually only been 8 weeks since the last one, when before I think they were doing it every 10 weeks. That would make the next one the first week of August, which would be annoying for any 7/31 expiring coupons.

My goals for this week are $1000 of food and stuff for free. Last time it was $700 for $100, which I demolished. $1000 may be a bit optimistic, but we’ll see.

I made my first trips at lunch.

I ended up with $95.16 of stuff for 15 cents, combined on 2 separate orders. It actually was $2.15 but they missed one of my coupons, so I’ll have to go back to the service desk to get my 2 bucks.

  1. Super Doubles are short for super double coupons, which is a promotion that some stores run in this area from time to time. Regularly, Kroger and Meijer double coupons up to 50 cents, so a 50 cent coupon will actually take a $1 off your bill (a 40 cent coupon will take 80 cents off your bill, etc). But a $1 coupon doesn’t double, so it’s just redeemed at $1.

But during super double coupons, they will double that $1 to $2, which can make for some pretty good deals.
