Happy Thanksgiving

I am thankful for lots of things. I am thankful for Jesus, and for the Book of Mormon. I am thankful for my awesome wife, who woke me up with the smells of piping hot orange danishes this morning. Mmm danishes, they are SO much better than sweet rolls. Oh yeah, danishes, danishes, danishes! I’m also thankful for a baby that actually sleeps at night!

In other news, the check engine light has been on in the Civic for a few days. I took it to Autozone, who will read the codes for free. As I am on my way to Autozone, no more than 2 miles away, the light goes off! Luckily though the car computer saves the code, and they were able to read it. Sounds like we need to replace the Oxygen sensor, which will probably run $100 or so.

At work, in the IT department at least, they let us go home early the day before a holiday. What I find somewhat humorous is that it’s always like a secret and a surprise. I overheard one of the managers talking to one of the other ones about how you should just go around at 3 and tell everyone they can go home. “Oh, really? You mean just like every other holiday for the past 5 years?!” :-). Still, I am thankful to have a good job at a company I like that lets me support my family, and allows my wife to stay home with our basketball team

Also in other news, my mom and step-dad came down to visit last weekend. I took my dad on a bike ride around town (about 12 miles). I think he’s not used to all the hills around here. I guess I didn’t realize it was so hilly here. In his defense, he was on the crap-o mountain bike. Afterwards he expressed that he had a lot more respect for my 50-mile ride earlier

  1. mmmm, orange sweet rolls. one of these days i’m going to acutally buy an orange danish and she how you like them apples baby.

  2. you know the check engine light on the explorer has been on for about 2 years and it is the 02 sensor that needs to be replaced and they only thing that will happen is you might get a mile or 2 less per gallon of gas. and your lucky if it will only cost you $100 to have it replaced. it would cost me about $450 to do it on the explorer they are about $150 each and I have 2 that needs to be replaced plus they cheapest labor I found is about $150.

  3. Thanks for the info Tim – I’m going to see how much it would cost.

As for the danishes – they were the Pillsbury ones. Calling those danishes is a running gag between Carolyn and I.
